Dental Implants

There are many reasons why teeth can be lost and when this happens, we know it can cause discomfort, difficulty eating and embarrassment. The placement of Dental Implants may help to alleviate some of these concerns.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root usually made of titanium and which can be implanted directly in place of a missing tooth. A crown can then be placed on the implant to permanently replace the tooth without impacting on any of the neighbouring teeth. Once the implant and crown are in place, they look, feel and function in a manner similar to natural teeth.

Implants can be used to replace multiple missing teeth in combination with a dental bridge, or can be used to fix and stabilise a removable partial or complete denture.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should fully understand the pros and cons of treament.
